For as little as $143 per year, you can rest easy knowing that your Costa Rica real estate is safe and secured from malicious intentions. The Private Property Registry offers a daily monitoring service that detects changes in the property information in the National Registry, they will notify you in time to take action to prevent some crook from:
* Taking out loan on your property representing themselves as you.
* Selling it to someone else.
* Faking a transfer of title and then taking out a loan in another person's name.

The PPR Monitoring service is available in two levels:
Monitor and Notify - costs $143 per year. You will be notified in the event of any change to your property. The notification is sent by email, fax and telephone as soon as the PPR legal department determines that there is a problem.
Maximum Security - costs $250 annually. It includes the first level plus an automatic procedure for stopping the transaction in the registry. In the case of fraudulent claim, this alone will stop the perpetrators cold.
